If you don't know how to farm gold in WOTLK you will have a really hard time in the game. World of Warcraft is a game that requires you to have gold all the time. You will need it to repair your armor and replenish your consumables. If you want to get better items, then you will need a whole lot more. The bottom line is that you need a way to make gold in the game.
As far as WOTLK goes, making money isn't as complicated as the other areas of the game. You can farm without having to kill a single mob. I noticed that in each area of the game, you can make more gold if you do something specific, like grind or do Instances.
In Northrend, however, pretty much every way to make gold works. So this is how to farm gold in WOTLK.
- Grinding works just like in any other part of the game. The trick is to go after mobs that drop Eternal elements. These are very good because you get 10 crystallized elements from a single Eternal one. For example, an Eternal Fire will get you 10 crystallized fire. These elements are always used in crafting, so they will sell.
- You can also go Mining and gathering. The ore and flowers in WOTLK are also on high demand. The flowers you need to concentrate on are Icethorn and Lichbloom. When you get one of these, you can also get a Frostlotus. That's the only way you can get that type of flower as it doesn't grow by itself, only in Wintergrasp.
- Another very good way to make gold is by fishing. With Glacial Salmon, Musselback Sculpin and Nettle Fish, you can make a Fish Feast. You can either sell those types of fish separately or cook them and sell the Fish Feast. Either way, this is an excellent way to make gold without much hassle.
My personal favorite is to hunt for those type of mobs and while I do that, gather everything I can. I have friends who like fishing a lot, but that's too boring for me. They make up to 500g every hour. Of course, they know exactly what they are doing because they always loved fishing in the game. They learned by themselves how to farm gold in WOTLK.
Those are the most common ways to make gold in WOTLK. You will see that once you do those, gold won't be an issue any longer. Of course, you should combine those and get the most out of every second of farming. Now you know how to farm gold in WOTLK.
